History

1997 – The company was founded in Romania, having as majority shareholder the company Holleman Holding BV, an old Dutch family company from Breda, active on the market since 1945. The Dutch Holleman was an European leader in the field of international oversized and heavy transportation, holding a fleet of over 200 trucks and 70 cranes of different types and capacities. More details about Holleman Breda you can find on its dedicated Facebook page.

The Romanian company started its activity with only one Iveco Turbostar truck, taking advantage, however, of the high know-how level, inherited from the parent company, from Netherlands. In the following period, specific investments have been made for the shaping of an effective fleet and highly complex transportations were performed.

The company developed in a normal rhythm and became an important transportation company in the Eastern Europe, due to the quality of the provided services, seriousness and observance of promises towards clients.

2001 – Transportation of the Christmas tree offered by Romania to His Holiness, Pope Joan Paul the Second. The height of the tree (length on trailer) was of 24 m, and its crown, on base, had, before packing, a diameter of 9.5m. This special transportation represented the acknowledgement of the fact that Holleman Romania was a known leader in the field, able to carry out important projects, on international level. Its execution was highly appreciated.

2004 – The Romanian founder and current manager of the company purchased all shares of Holleman Holding BV. Because the company needed support in Western Europe, half of the company shares were sold to the German company Peter Schwandner Transport & Logistik GmbH.  The participation of the German investor provided a new dimension and progress to the business.

It was implemented an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system for the management of the special transportation business.

2005 – 2006 – The fleet registered an important evolution: if, in the past, the company was able to transport goods up to 55 tones, starting this period, the transportation capacity increased to 315 tones, using own equipment, registered in Romania.

2006 – The activity extended in Bulgaria by setting the company Holleman Bulgaria O.O.D.

2007 – New Holleman company was incorporated in Moldova – Holleman East Srl.

2008 – New Holleman companies were inaugurated in Serbia – Holleman Transport D.O.O.,  Hungary – Holleman Special Transport Hungary and Ukraine – Holleman Ukraine SLL.

The company extended its  activity in the field of trucks’ service.
